Northwood Banks are proud to announce that director, and Chief Legal Officer, Helen Claydon has been recognised as Industry Champion, at this year’s British Wills & Probate Awards.
We are proud to announce that director, and Chief Legal Officer, Helen Claydon has been recognised as Industry Champion at this year’s British Wills & Probate Awards. This accolade seeks to honour individuals who have surpassed expectations in championing the private client and estate planning sector over the previous 12 months. The award is especially significant as it is both nominated, and voted for, by Helen’s peers in the industry.
Helen has been a strong advocate of the private client sector throughout her career. It is her belief that services such as Estate Planning and Trusts should be available, affordable, and accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Making the process clear and straightforward is central to Helen’s vision for the sector.
Another area where she is passionate is in the improvement of training and knowledge across the industry. This has seen the creation of a specific, in-house apprenticeship programme and the extending of an offering to local law graduates at Lincoln University.
Alongside this, Helen oversaw Fidelis Legal Services’ joining the STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) Employer Programme. This programme is dedicated to improving quality and standards in training at all levels. The company was one of the first 100 businesses worldwide to achieve this status.
Helen is also the Head of Legal at the TAS network, a group of well-established estate planning businesses which makes trust and estate planning services available to the public. She has helped develop this group by providing support and technical advice to the members, and she also sits on the management committee.
Helen received her award at a glittering ceremony held at the Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel, Manchester, an event which was simultaneously broadcast on the internet to a wider audience.
Everyone at Northwood Banks, and across the wider HAIG Legal Group, congratulate Helen on this magnificent achievement.
